Scholarships Open for 95pc Students
Local universities receive major share under national education plan

The Education Ministry has opened registration for scholarships for the 2026-2027 academic year for Bahraini secondary school graduates with a cumulative average of at least 95 pc.
Applications can be submitted through the ministry’s website or the dedicated scholarships and grants portal.
The plan offers hundreds of scholarships across dozens of fields at universities and higher education bodies in Bahrain and abroad, covering medicine, engineering, technology, business, finance, law, the humanities, the arts and newer fields linked to labour market needs and digital change.
Local institutions received the largest share, including the University of Bahrain, Bahrain Polytechnic, the British University of Bahrain, the American University of Bahrain, the University of Strathclyde Bahrain, Ahlia University, Kingdom University, Gulf University, the European University of Bahrain, the Arab Open University, the Royal University for Women, Vatel Bahrain and BIBF.
The plan also includes scholarships in Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, the UK, the US and Japan.
Medical and health places include medicine, nursing, emergency medical services, physiotherapy, nutrition and dietetics, and medical and biological sciences. Technology and future-focused fields include artificial intelligence, cyber security, data science, computer science, software engineering, computer networks and IT engineering.
Engineering scholarships cover civil, mechanical, electrical and electronic, chemical, industrial, environmental, petroleum and natural gas engineering, as well as engineering and environmental geology.
Japan features in this year’s plan through scholarships at Waseda University, Kyushu University and Ritsumeikan University in fields including chemistry, computer science, information systems, mathematical sciences and mechanical engineering.
Business and finance options include administration, marketing, international business, real estate management, human resources, hotel management, logistics, accounting, banking, economics and business analytics.
