Bahrain Participates in IAEA High-Level Meeting in Geneva

Ambassador Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, Bahrain's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office and other international organisations in Geneva, took part in a high-level meeting hosted by Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), with representatives of member states accredited to the Agency in Geneva.

The meeting served as a platform for discussions on key priorities of the IAEA, including nuclear safeguards, nuclear safety and security, nuclear energy, nuclear science and applications, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation between the Agency and its member states.

Participants also engaged in an interactive dialogue with the IAEA Director General on the Agency's strategic priorities and the challenges facing the global nuclear sector.

During the meeting, Ambassador Abdullah reaffirmed the importance of the IAEA's role in promoting the peaceful use of nuclear energy, ensuring compliance with international nuclear safeguards, and supporting nuclear safety and security, highlighting the Agency's contribution to regional and global peace, security, and stability.
