Shura Delegation Contributes to Arab Parliament Committees in Cairo Talks
Members of the Bahraini Shura Council are participating in the meetings of the permanent committees and the third session of the second sitting of the fourth legislative term of the Arab Parliament, currently being held in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The delegation includes Dr. Adel Abdulrahman Al Maawada, Vice-Chairman of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee in the Shura Council of Bahrain and Vice-Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Political and National Security Committee in the Arab Parliament, as well as Dr. Ibtisam Mohammed Saleh Al Dallal, member of the Services Committee in the Shura Council and member of the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee in the Arab Parliament.
The meetings, chaired by Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, bring together representatives of Arab councils and parliaments and are being held over two days in Cairo, Cairo.
The Foreign Affairs, Political and National Security Committee, with the participation of Dr. Al Maawada, is discussing recent political and security developments in the Arab world. The agenda also includes reports on a subcommittee studying a proposed “Arab Parliamentary Vision to Activate Preventive Parliamentary Diplomacy,” as well as a vision paper addressing the impact of external interference in local conflicts and ways to confront it. Members are also reviewing the 2025 political situation report in the Arab region and assessing the committee’s activity during the current legislative term (2025–2026).
Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee, with the participation of Dr. Al Dallal, is examining a draft parliamentary guide on artificial intelligence and a memorandum from the General Secretariat regarding the implementation of recommendations on technical cooperation to prepare the executive regulations of the Arab model law on artificial intelligence approved by the Arab Parliament.
The committee is also discussing a proposed action plan to support the Palestinian economy, reviewing preparations for a conference on promoting the blue economy in Arab countries, and assessing its activity report for the current legislative term.
The third plenary session of the Arab Parliament, scheduled for Tuesday, will review reports submitted by the permanent committees, along with recommendations and draft resolutions for approval. It will also discuss additional items on the Parliament’s agenda.
The participation of the Shura Council reflects Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening Arab parliamentary cooperation, enhancing coordination among Arab legislative institutions, and supporting joint Arab initiatives that address regional and international challenges.
