Bahrain’s Ministry of Works has reviewed progress on a major sewerage infrastructure project serving residential blocks 447, 431 and 435 in Al Qadam and Jibla Habshi, with officials confirming that construction has reached 52% completion.
The inspection visit was led by Sheikh Mishaal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works, accompanied by Fathi Abdullah Al Fara, Assistant Undersecretary for Sewerage Engineering.
The visit formed part of the ministry’s regular field inspections aimed at monitoring the progress of strategic infrastructure projects and ensuring work is advancing according to approved schedules.
During the tour, officials reviewed ongoing construction activities and assessed progress across multiple locations within the project area.
According to the Ministry of Works, the project includes the construction of a new sewerage pumping station, the installation of main sewer pipelines using open-cut excavation and trenching methods, and the development of secondary sewer networks. The works also involve building inspection chambers that will serve approximately 414 properties across the three residential blocks.
Sheikh Mishaal said the project will significantly enhance the efficiency and capacity of the sewerage network in the area, helping to improve public services and support Bahrain’s urban development goals.
He added that the upgraded infrastructure is expected to contribute to better environmental conditions and public health standards for residents of the surrounding communities.
The project was awarded by the Tender Board to Abdulhadi Al Afoo Company W.L.L. at a cost of BD4.97 million.
The Ministry of Works continues to implement infrastructure projects across the Kingdom aimed at improving public services and supporting sustainable urban growth.
