Traffic Dispute Leaves Man With Permanent Disability
Court hears assault case over road argument that ended in broken shoulder

The High Criminal Court has begun hearing the case of a 54-year-old man accused of assaulting a 59-year-old man during a traffic dispute, causing injuries that resulted in a permanent 4% disability.
The incident took place on October 30, 2025, in Al Qadam, when the two men became involved in a dispute over the right of way on a two-lane road.
According to the victim, he got out of his vehicle and asked the defendant to move back so he could pass. The defendant allegedly refused, approached him and pushed him, causing him to fall and fracture his shoulder.
The defendant denied the charges in court but had earlier admitted during the Public Prosecution investigation that he pushed the victim, causing him to fall onto the road.
A forensic medical report found that the victim continued to experience pain in his left shoulder despite completing physiotherapy. His injuries were assessed as causing a permanent 4% disability.
The court adjourned the case until August 18, 2026, for the next hearing.
