Lieutenant-General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan, Chief of Police said the investigation confirmed the existence of a “terrorist organisation” linked to the IRGC and Wilayat al-Faqih ideology. The members', activities, and communications of this organisation were under monitoring for some time as part of a proactive security approach.” He added that the network consisted of 41 arrested individuals in Bahrain, alongside 11 others in Iran, describing them collectively as the “main organisation."”
Influence Religious Life
Lieutenant-General Tariq said the group’s activities included infiltrating religious and social institutions to reshape political and ideological orientation. “The danger of this organisation lies in the fact that it carried out organised terrorism against members of the Shia community and hijacked their voice and choices,” he said.
He stated that the group attempted to promote loyalty to Iran and the IRGC while undermining allegiance to the Bahraini state. He also claimed the group sought to control sermons and religious chants in mosques and gatherings by intimidating religious figures and event organisers.
Funding
The group collected funds for illegal purposes and received money from IRGC-linked intermediaries in Iran. He added that these activities financed operations that “harm civil peace and community security.” The police chief said the operation reflected the effectiveness of Bahrain’s security apparatus. “The success of the security efforts helped foil this terrorist plot, aligning with the Bahrain Police's role in protecting the country and its people,” he said.
