Bahrain Hosts Preparatory Meeting of GCC Health Ministry Undersecretaries
The Kingdom of Bahrain hosted the 12th preparatory meeting of Undersecretaries of Health Ministries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, as part of Bahrain’s presidency of the 46th session of the GCC.
Dr. Lulwa Rashid Shwaiter, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, chaired the meeting held in Manama as part of preparations for the ministerial meeting of Their Excellencies and Highnesses the GCC Health Ministers.
In her speech, Dr. Shwaiter expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the GCC General Secretariat and member states in supporting joint Gulf cooperation, stressing the importance of such meetings in strengthening health cooperation and continuing to improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare systems and services, in line with the GCC states’ aspirations for sustainable development.
The meeting reviewed the health-related topics on the agenda and discussed the progress made on them, as well as the recommendations of technical committees and joint working teams. It also focused on preparing draft decisions and recommendations to be submitted to the GCC Health Ministers.
