Security Not Open to Bargaining

Lawmakers stress unity and national sovereignty

MPs backed remarks by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, stressing that national security and sovereignty are “not open to bargaining” following recent tensions linked to Iran.

Lawmakers said the King’s speech set firm red lines on protecting the country, warning that any cooperation with external threats would face legal action. They described the message as reinforcing unity, loyalty and the rule of law.

MPs also underlined Parliament's responsibility to uphold national interests and avoid conduct that harms public trust, calling representation a “public duty, not a privilege.”

They praised the leadership of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, as well as the armed forces and security agencies, for their response and efforts to safeguard the country.
