Foreign Minister Meets US Ambassador to Discuss Regional Developments
Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bahrain, received Stephanie L. Hallett, Ambassador of the United States to the Kingdom.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the strong historical ties and strategic partnership between Bahrain and the United States, exploring ways to further enhance cooperation across various fields in line with shared interests.
Discussions also covered recent regional developments, particularly the impact of attacks attributed to Iran targeting Bahrain and other GCC states, and the threats they pose to regional security and stability.
The two sides addressed concerns related to the potential closure of the Strait of Hormuz and its implications for international navigation, alongside exchanging views on strengthening coordination within the United Nations Security Council.
The meeting was also attended by Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
