A series of municipal measures aimed at improving everyday services are being implemented across Bahrain, as authorities respond to observations by the National Audit Office with a focus on practical outcomes.
In its response, the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture said BD13,000 is provided to eligible families under the Cities and Villages Development Programme, in coordination with municipal councils.
Applications are processed through an electronic system, supported by clear guidelines to ensure fairness and transparency.
Inspection campaigns have also resulted in the removal of around 480 abandoned vehicles, improving safety and the appearance of residential areas.
In addition, 12 municipal sites have been allocated across the Kingdom to support mobile food businesses, with applications now available digitally.
Coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has been strengthened to monitor licences issued through the “Sijilat” system, in line with the growing number of food trucks, to ensure better regulation of the sector.
