New Deputy CEO at REHC
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court and Chairman of the Higher Authority of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, has issued a decision appointing Majid Mohammed Majid Al Majed as Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Operations at the club.
The appointment was made following approval by the Higher Authority of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club.
Back-to-School Deals Get a Boost
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce is continuing the fifth edition of its Consumer Friend initiative, with 11 commercial establishments participating in offers aimed at providing families with wider choices and better value during the back-to-school season.
The initiative covers food and consumer goods, school supplies and stationery, and electrical and electronic devices. The ministry said the programme strengthens cooperation with the private sector while promoting conscious shopping and advance planning.
Global Nominations Open
The King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance has launched the first King Hamad Award for Coexistence and Tolerance, offering a US$1 million prize with nominations open worldwide until October 10, 2026.
Established under Royal Order (32) of 2024, the award recognises individuals and institutions that have made exceptional contributions to promoting tolerance, coexistence, dialogue and mutual respect, with nominations submitted through the award’s official website.
Bahrain Voices Solidarity with Iraq
Bahrain has strongly condemned an Iranian drone attack targeting the private office of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the residence of the Director of the Protection Agency in Pirmam, Erbil Governorate.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attack as a dangerous escalation threatening regional security and stability and a violation of international law, the UN Charter and the principles of good neighbourliness.
Bahrain reaffirmed its full solidarity with Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government and expressed support for measures aimed at protecting Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and safeguarding the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region.
