Youth Explore Bahrain’s Parliamentary Process
The visit forms part of the General Secretariat’s efforts to strengthen community partnership, promote awareness of the legislative and oversight roles of the legislative authority, and foster parliamentary culture among young people and children.
During the visit, participants attended a comprehensive presentation on the Shura Council’s responsibilities and functions, as well as the mechanisms of cooperation between the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives, and between the legislative and executive branches.
The presentation also highlighted the complementary roles of the two branches in supporting Bahrain’s comprehensive development efforts and advancing national priorities.
The participants also toured the Council’s main chamber, where they were introduced to the procedures for conducting and managing parliamentary sessions.
The visit was part of a series of programmes and visits organised by the General Secretariat of the Shura Council to strengthen national belonging and familiarise young people with Bahrain’s parliamentary practices and its established model of national participation and decision-making.
