Bahrain Water Strategy Achieves 81% Progress
The Deputy Prime Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, chaired the regular meeting of the Water Resources Council, where key developments in the Kingdom’s water sector were reviewed.
During the meeting, the council assessed progress on the National Water Strategy (2021–2030), highlighting significant achievements across its initiatives and projects. The overall completion rate has reached 81 percent, reflecting the effectiveness of ongoing efforts to strengthen this vital sector.
The strategy includes a total of 40 initiatives, of which 22 have been completed, while the remaining 18 are currently being implemented according to scheduled timelines.
Relevant ministries presented detailed updates on their respective contributions, outlining the progress made in executing various initiatives. These efforts aim to ensure integrated government action in enhancing water security across the Kingdom.
The council also reviewed measures to ensure a safe and stable water supply, emphasizing the high level of preparedness within Bahrain’s water system. Officials reaffirmed the system’s capability to meet national water demands efficiently and consistently under all conditions.
