SCW Marks 25 Years of Women’s Empowerment

The General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) held a ceremony marking the council’s silver jubilee, which falls on August 22 under the theme “Twenty-Five Years at the Heart of the Reform Project.”

Lulwa Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary General of the SCW, attended the ceremony along with members of the General Secretariat.

Al Awadhi conveyed the greetings and congratulations of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the SCW, to the General Secretariat’s staff. She praised their contributions throughout the council’s 25-year journey and stressed the importance of building on its achievements.

She noted that the anniversary reflects the progress made in Bahraini women’s participation across various areas of national development, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the legislative and institutional frameworks established as part of His Majesty’s comprehensive development process.

Al Awadhi highlighted the advances made over the past 25 years in planning, coordination and partnerships supporting Bahraini women, alongside their broader participation in national development and the growing presence of Bahrain’s experience at regional and international forums.
