Bahrain–Egypt Talks Focus on Regional Stability and Security
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received Abdel Fattah El-Sisi upon his arrival in the Kingdom of Bahrain on an official visit.
The Egyptian President was welcomed at the airport by His Royal Highness Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, along with senior members of the royal family and a number of ministers.
During the visit, His Majesty the King held talks with President El-Sisi in the presence of HRH the Crown Prince and senior officials. The discussions focused on the strong fraternal ties between the two countries and recent regional developments.
His Majesty welcomed President El-Sisi and expressed pride in the visit, highlighting the deep-rooted relations between Bahrain and Egypt. He emphasized Egypt’s key role in supporting regional security and stability and praised its continued support for Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in addressing regional challenges.
The King also expressed appreciation for Egypt’s support and solidarity with Bahrain in safeguarding its sovereignty, security, and stability.
The meeting reviewed regional developments and their impact on security, including ongoing tensions and attacks targeting countries in the region, which were described as violations of international law and threats to global peace.
Both leaders reaffirmed the importance of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, which calls for an immediate halt to attacks on Gulf states and Jordan, and stresses the right of nations to defend themselves.
They also underscored the urgent need to ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, describing it as a vital international passage for global energy and trade. The leaders stressed that protecting maritime routes is a shared international responsibility.
Both sides reiterated their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across various sectors, in line with the aspirations of both nations and their peoples.
