A single online platform to manage teacher recruitment under the Ministry of Education has been proposed by MP Mohammed Al Olaiwi, covering staff for public and private schools, colleges, nurseries and other education providers.
Al Olaiwi wants the ministry to oversee a central database for education recruitment, saying it would shift hiring away from filling gaps as they arise and towards planning based on clear numbers and trends.
The system would log specialisations on offer, track supply and demand, and estimate future needs in line with school expansion and demographic change.
“The platform is a strategic tool to manage educational human resources on a scientific, data-led basis,” he said. “It allows accurate tracking of available specialisations, analysis of supply and demand, and forecasting of future needs as schools expand or demographics change.”
Candidates
He said the database would help build a pool of qualified candidates, reduce sudden shortages and support staff stability across schools.
“This turns hiring from an immediate reaction to vacancies into a proactive system,” he added, “able to build a reserve of trained staff and reduce surprise gaps.”
Al Olaiwi said the proposal fits with the drive towards digital government by cutting paperwork, shortening recruitment timelines and lowering administrative costs linked to older methods.
Trust
He added that it would “strengthen transparency, traceability and accountability”, raise trust in institutions and support better public-sector performance.
The MP said the plan would also cover teaching staff and ‘simple labour’ posts within education, all under ministry supervision. He linked the move to unemployment and classroom standards.
