His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, affirmed that Bahrain Sports Day, observed on February 12, 2026, embodies the Kingdom’s strategic approach to building a healthy and active society.

His Highness highlighted that the initiative reflects the wise vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, supported and closely followed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to make sports an integral way of life and a fundamental pillar in enhancing public health and overall quality of life.

Shaikh Nasser noted that dedicating a national day to sports underscores Bahrain’s commitment to promoting physical activity across all segments of society and strengthening community engagement through sports-based initiatives.

He also commended the distinguished efforts led by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, in organising and advancing Sports Day activities. He praised the diversity, quality and inclusiveness of the events, which continue to encourage broad participation and reinforce the culture of sports within the community.

Sports Day activities are set to take place across the Kingdom, bringing together citizens and residents in a unified celebration of health, fitness and active living.
