Bahrain Chairs GCC Advisory Board Talks
Shura Council member Sabeeka Khalifa Al Fadhala highlighted the steady progress of joint Gulf action, attributing it to the leadership’s clear vision and sustained support provided by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
She said the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) continues to receive focused attention from the Kingdom’s leadership, rooted in a firm belief in the importance of collective action and Gulf unity as a foundation for advancing the interests of the region’s peoples.
Her remarks came during her participation in the first meeting of the 29th session of the Advisory Board of the GCC Supreme Council, currently being hosted by Bahrain on February 9 and 10, as the Kingdom chairs the 46th session of the GCC.
Al Fadhala described the Advisory Board meetings as an essential platform for shaping the future of Gulf cooperation, noting their role in examining strategic priorities and putting forward recommendations that enhance coordination and integration among GCC states. She underlined that the ongoing discussions reflect the Council’s ability to adapt and respond effectively to regional and global developments.
She further explained that the meeting’s agenda addresses pressing issues facing GCC countries, including strategic perspectives on digital currencies, the implications of digital transformation for Gulf labor markets, and a range of social matters with direct impact on citizens. These discussions, she said, aim to strengthen preparedness for rapid global changes and support sustainable development goals.
Al Fadhala concluded that engaging with such forward-looking topics within the Advisory Board framework reinforces joint Gulf decision-making, promotes evidence-based policies, and supports the GCC’s role in meeting citizens’ aspirations for long-term stability and shared prosperity.
