Anand Lobo, a former president of the Indian Club and a widely respected figure within Bahrain’s In‑ dian diaspora, passed away on Thursday, triggering an outpouring of grief across the community.
The Indian community in Bahrain mourned the loss of Lobo, remembered for his vibrant personali‑ ty, boundless energy, and decades‑long contribution to community life in the Kingdom. A pillar of the diaspora for more than 30 years, he played a key role in strengthening cultural and social engagement among expatriates.
An exceptionally gifted compere, Lobo was known for his elegant voice and spontaneous wit, which made him a familiar and much‑loved presence at cultural programmes and social gatherings.
