Prosecution Refers Two Men to Trial Over Planned Murder
The Northern Governorate Prosecutor has announced that the Public Prosecution has completed its investigations into the deliberate murder of an Asian man and has referred two suspects of the same nationality to criminal court. The hearing is scheduled for February 9, 2025, before the High Criminal Court.
The case began when the Public Prosecution received a report from the Northern Governorate Directorate about the discovery of the victim’s body in an alley in the Al-Budaiya area. The victim had multiple stab wounds.
Upon receiving the report, the Public Prosecution immediately began investigations. A prosecutor visited the crime scene, examined the body, and recorded evidence. Witness statements and security camera footage confirmed the suspects’ involvement in the crime. The police later apprehended the suspects while they were attempting to flee the country and recovered the weapons used in the murder.
During interrogation, the suspects admitted to committing the crime. They revealed that the attack was motivated by a long-standing dispute from over 12 years ago in their home country, and they had planned the killing as revenge for a relative. The suspects followed the victim for two months and ambushed him near his home on the day of the murder, stabbing him multiple times before fleeing.
A forensic doctor conducted an autopsy, confirming that the cause of death was stab and cut wounds matching the weapons used. Forensic laboratory tests found the victim’s blood and human cells on the suspects’ clothing and the seized weapons.
After reviewing the evidence, the Public Prosecution ordered that both suspects remain in custody and face trial.
