The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture has set new fees for registering and accrediting halal auditing bodies and for licensing the use of the national halal mark, under Decision No. 7 of 2026.

The decision fixes charges for organisations seeking recognition as halal conformity assessment bodies.

An application to register, or renew registration, will cost 500 dinars.

Registering a branch will cost 250 dinars, while adding a new scope will cost 200 dinars.

The technical review of documents will cost 250 dinars, and issuing an accreditation decision valid for four years will also cost 250 dinars.

A separate set of fees applies to the use of the national halal mark.

A licence application, or renewal, will cost 100 dinars, while adding a new product will cost 20 dinars.

The technical review of documents will cost 100 dinars. The decision also sets a daily rate for on-site technical assessments covering restaurants, hotels and other activities that fall under field evaluation.

Assessor

The charge is 125 dinars per working day for each assessor.

Licences to use the national halal mark will be issued for three years, with a 100-dinar fee set for issuing the licence approval.

The Minister, His Excellency Engineer Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, issued the decision after reviewing Decision No. 61 of 2024 on halal products in the Kingdom of Bahrain, with reference to Articles 4 and 11.

It was based on a submission from the undersecretary for agriculture and animal resources affairs and followed Cabinet approval.

The decision will take effect from the day after its publication in the Official Gazette, with implementation assigned to the undersecretary for agriculture and animal resources affairs.
