Bahrain Names New Permanent Representative to DCO

Riyadh: Shaikh Ali bin Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has officially presented his credentials as Bahrain’s Permanent Representative to the Digital Cooperation Organisation (DCO), marking a further step in the Kingdom’s engagement with international digital governance efforts.
The credentials were presented to Deemah Al Yahya, Secretary General of the DCO, during a formal ceremony held at the Organisation’s headquarters in Riyadh
During the meeting, Shaikh Ali bin Abdulrahman underscored Bahrain’s strong commitment to supporting the DCO’s mandate of enhancing digital cooperation among member states. He highlighted the Kingdom’s focus on developing resilient digital infrastructure, promoting innovation, and advancing inclusive digital growth in line with global sustainable development priorities.
The Ambassador noted that Bahrain’s participation in the DCO reflects its broader national strategy to strengthen its presence in regional and international digital economy platforms. He emphasised the Kingdom’s readiness to share expertise gained through its advanced digital government services, fintech ecosystem, and regulatory frameworks that support emerging technologies. He also stressed the importance of building strategic partnerships that contribute to comprehensive digital transformation and economic diversification.
Shaikh Ali bin Abdulrahman further highlighted the need for collaborative efforts among DCO member states to address key challenges such as digital inclusion, skills development, and access to technology, particularly for developing economies and young entrepreneurs.
In response, DCO Secretary General Deemah Al Yahya welcomed the Ambassador’s appointment and expressed appreciation for Bahrain’s active and constructive role within the Organisation. She praised the Kingdom’s contributions to the DCO’s initiatives and reaffirmed the Organisation’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Bahrain in areas related to digital policy coordination, innovation, and sustainable economic growth.
Al Yahya also conveyed her confidence that Bahrain’s continued engagement would support the DCO’s mission to enable digital economic development and create inclusive digital opportunities across member states.
Headquartered in Riyadh, the Digital Cooperation Organisation is an international multilateral body that brings together governments to promote collaboration in the digital economy, support digital transformation, and strengthen policy frameworks that enable technology-driven growth, according to official DCO information.
