Bahrain Marks 2026 as the Year of Isa Al Kabeer

His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa expressed his pride and appreciation for the Royal Order issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which designates 2026 as the Year of Isa Al Kabeer. The initiative honors the founder of modern Bahrain and a key figure in the Kingdom’s institutional renaissance.

The Interior Minister explained that this Royal initiative reflects HM the King’s vision to revive Bahrain’s modern history and preserve its national heritage. A central part of this effort is the national project to restore Isa Grand Palace in Muharraq City. HE Shaikh Rashid praised the ongoing support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, highlighting its role in Bahrain’s comprehensive development and progress.

HE Shaikh Rashid also emphasized that the era of Isa Al Kabeer was marked by principles and achievements that strengthened security and stability and laid the foundations of the modern Bahraini state, rooted in Arab and Islamic values and the traditions of the Bahraini people.

He noted that Isa Al Kabeer was the architect of Bahrain’s modern renaissance, and that HM the King continues his legacy through visionary leadership that has advanced national development, raised Bahrain’s civilizational standing, and enhanced the Kingdom’s international reputation.

The Interior Minister added that the Year of Isa Al Kabeer is a significant national and historical occasion, celebrating Bahrain’s rich heritage and highlighting the enduring values and achievements of this important era.
