DC Book Fair witnesses high turnout of bibliophiles

The International Book Fair organised by Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam and DC Books at the BKS DJ Hall in Segaya is heaving with readers of all ages in the Kingdom, according to the organisers. 

Organising Committee Convener Saji Markose said that as of yesterday, Indian expat Jaya Menon’s book “Bramakalpanakal” is the top seller in the book fair. As part of the cultural fest, organised in connection with the book fair, Indian author, public speaker and social entrepreneur Srijan Pal Singh will arrive here today to deliver a lecture on the book fair, which will continue till January 16. 

Srijan has co-authored a bestseller book with former Indian President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, “Target 3 Billion,” which recommends innovative solutions towards sustainable development of the rural areas of the world.

The Book Fair and Cultural Fest was inaugurated by M. Mukundan, a noted litterateur in Malayalam literature. 

The book lovers of Bahrain will be feasted to a wide range of literary works from the catalogues of major English and Malayalam publishers like Penguin, Harper Collins, Hachette, Scholastic, Oxford University Press, DC Books, Olive, Current Books, Sankeerthanam, Mathrubhumi, Malayala Manorama and many more. 

The Bahrain International Book Fair has titles for bibliophiles to choose from a variety of categories like fiction, non-fiction, novels, short stories, poems, self-help, management and cookery etc. 

A special section has been arranged for the book loving children of Bahrain whom would be privileged to a wide range of books in classics, folklores, adventures and comics etc. to add to their collection. 

Bahrain’s leading media group SPAC under the leadership of its chairman P. Unnikrishnan, is representing DC Books in the Kingdom. DC Books will be opening outlets in all LuLu Hypermarkets in the Kingdom and will also arrange door-to-door book delivery system.
