Arab Woman Arrested for Assaulting Child with Special Needs at Bahrain Intervention Centre

Manama: A woman of Arab nationality has been detained for allegedly physically abusing a child with special needs at a private early intervention centre in Manama, Bahrain.

The incident came to light when the child's father, who is also a person with disabilities, discovered scratches on his son's hand and reported the matter to the authorities. Security camera footage revealed the woman hitting the child multiple times over several days.

The Public Prosecution launched an investigation, reviewing evidence and questioning the accused, who admitted to the assault. The woman is being held pending further investigation and will face charges.

Bahrain's Family and Child Prosecution is prioritising the protection of vulnerable children, especially those with disabilities, and is working with relevant authorities to ensure their safety and well-being.
