ASU Hosts Global Decision-Making Science Conference with Participation from 49 Countries

 

Manama – Applied Science University (ASU) launched the 6th International Conference on Decision Aid Science and Applications (DASA 2025) on 1–2 December 2025, welcoming researchers and experts from around the world. The conference saw participation from 1,875 researchers representing 49 countries, who presented 432 peer-reviewed papers across multiple sessions.

The event was inaugurated in the presence of H.E. Dr. Diana Abdulkarim Al Jahromi, Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council. In her opening remarks, Dr. Al Jahromi highlighted the importance of scientific research, knowledge transfer, and international collaboration in higher education, emphasizing their role in strengthening Bahrain’s research capabilities and supporting national priorities.

On the sidelines of the conference, ASU signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ISC Paris Business School to enhance academic and research cooperation between the two institutions.

Professor Waheeb Al Khaja, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, expressed pride in the conference’s success, noting its alignment with ASU’s vision to position Bahrain as a regional hub for knowledge and innovation. University President Professor Hatem Masri highlighted the event’s diversity and its role in promoting applied studies and decision-making sciences, offering opportunities for knowledge exchange and international partnerships.

Keynote speakers included Professor Colin Turner from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, and Dr. Jean-Christophe Hauguel from ISC Paris Business School. The opening sessions were attended by diplomats, including H.E. Éric Giraud-Telme, Ambassador of France to Bahrain, who emphasized the value of academic partnerships in fostering scientific exchange.

DASA 2025 underlines ASU’s capability to host world-class research conferences, strengthen Bahrain’s global academic presence, and promote innovation in decision-making sciences.
