Bahrain Boosts Election Readiness With AI-Enhanced Training Module
The Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) has concluded a specialized training course titled “Using Artificial Intelligence in Electoral District Analysis”, delivered by Dr. Jassim Haji, Executive Advisor for AI and Data at the Nasser Vocational Training Centre and President of the Global Artificial Intelligence Group. The workshop marked the final stage of preparations for candidacy under the national parliamentary and municipal elections program “Darrab.”
The program highlighted the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence tools and their growing role in supporting electoral processes, particularly in analyzing constituency data, predicting voter behavior, and identifying patterns across geographic areas with greater accuracy than traditional methods. The course also outlined key differences between human and artificial intelligence capabilities in areas such as retention, analysis, management, and forecasting, supported by practical models demonstrating how intelligent systems can process complex datasets and extract indicators to inform electoral decision-making.
Dr. Haji emphasized the importance of data as the primary driver of AI systems and reviewed the most influential types of parliamentary and electoral data used in building precise analytical insights, including legislative and administrative records as well as voter-specific data by constituency.
The training also explored prominent AI applications within electoral work, such as voter trend analysis, the use of generative AI tools to create professional and unbiased campaign content, and advanced topics including the detection of deepfake technologies, enhancing transparency and integrity, and combating misinformation through intelligent analysis tools.
Participants were introduced to widely used global AI tools and learned how to apply large language models for summarization, message drafting, and the creation of awareness-focused campaign content. The program also included hands-on exercises in analyzing both quantitative and qualitative electoral data.
The course concludes the first phase of the “Darrab” national program, which aims to train and educate candidates and campaign teams, enhance transparency and integrity in the electoral process, and strengthen legal, political, and media awareness—ultimately contributing to the advancement of Bahrain’s parliamentary and municipal elections.
