Bahrain to Host Inaugural TEDxDilmun

The Kingdom of Bahrain is set to host the first-ever TEDxDilmun on Saturday, November 22, 2025, in a landmark event bringing together leading local and regional voices under the theme “EDGE: Explore, Discover, Grow, Engage.” The conference will highlight the importance of stepping beyond comfort zones, embracing resilience, finding meaning, and fostering human connection.

TEDxDilmun aims to strengthen social capital by facilitating the exchange of ideas that build trust, empathy, and shared purpose within communities. Drawing inspiration from the symbolism of Dilmun — the ancient land historically known as a meeting point for civilizations — the event will provide a contemporary platform for dialogue, innovation, and cultural exchange.

The event will feature an impressive lineup of speakers from Bahrain and abroad, including:

• His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, event patron, renowned for his visionary support of youth, sports, and transformative initiatives.

• Dr. Ahmed Al-Suhaili from Saudi Arabia, a technology innovator sharing insights on harnessing technology for the benefit of individuals and society.

• Ms. Basma Al-Saeed from Oman, a mental health expert discussing the significance of psychological balance in personal and societal well-being.

• Ms. Fatima Jafar Al-Sirafi, Bahraini Minister of Tourism, highlighting culture as a tool to strengthen national identity.

• Ghaia Al-Ahbabi from the UAE, an environmental change-maker and youth advocate, sharing her journey in social and environmental impact.

Additional speakers will contribute to a full day of inspiring talks and discussions.

Organized independently under the global TEDx framework, the event is overseen by Thuraya Sarraf, a seasoned storyteller and educational consultant with over 20 years of experience across Canada and the Gulf region.

TEDxDilmun is expected to mark a milestone in Bahrain’s cultural landscape, offering a platform that fosters inspirational dialogue and the sharing of experiences among thought leaders and change-makers in the region.
