The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), represented by Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director General of Heritage, participated in the 27th Conference on Archaeology and Cultural Heritage in the Arab World, hosted by Qatar Museums in cooperation with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO).

This year’s edition was held under the theme “Sustainability of Cultural Heritage: Challenges and Future Strategies”. During the conference, the Director General of Heritage presented a research paper titled Muharraq City Development Plan, highlighting Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to preserve its architectural and cultural heritage.

The conference also witnessed the launch of the First Arab Youth Forum for Sustainable Heritage, designed to empower Arab youth and enhance their role in the fields of archaeology and cultural heritage preservation, thereby reinforcing the concept of sustainability within joint Arab cultural initiatives.
