His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting, held today at Gudaibiya Palace.
At the start of the meeting, the Cabinet commended the Kingdom of Bahrain’s successful hosting of the 3rd Asian Youth Games, held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. His Royal Highness praised the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, for his leadership in advancing Bahrain’s sports and youth sectors. The Cabinet also recognized the follow-up and support of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, which contributed to the successful organization of the Games. The Cabinet wished Bahrain’s athletes continued success in achieving outstanding results in regional and international competitions.
The Cabinet also commended the strong cooperation between the Government, the Council of Representatives, and the Shura Council, highlighting the recent approval of the Press, Printing, and Publishing Law as a milestone in the Kingdom’s efforts to modernize the media and journalism sectors. His Royal Highness expressed appreciation to the legislative authority for its constructive collaboration, emphasizing that such partnerships strengthen Bahrain’s legislative and regulatory framework in line with national development goals.
In line with the government’s continued efforts to enhance citizens’ quality of life, His Royal Highness directed the reduction of the maximum monthly installment cap for beneficiaries of the Mazaya Housing Program through increased government financial support. He also instructed the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning to diversify housing options to better meet the aspirations of Bahraini citizens. The Cabinet expressed its appreciation to the private sector for its ongoing partnership in advancing housing services and national development projects.
The Cabinet reviewed the progress made by the Ministry of Labour in implementing His Royal Highness’s directive to present three job opportunities to each registered job seeker before the end of the year. This initiative aligns with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to expand employment prospects and ensure sustainable economic participation for citizens.
The Cabinet noted that the Ministry of Labour has conducted interviews with over 15,000 job seekers, presented three employment opportunities to more than 2,000 citizens, and successfully secured jobs for 1,000 individuals. His Royal Highness directed the Ministry to continue efforts to ensure that all registered job seekers receive employment offers, reinforcing the government’s commitment to supporting citizens’ career development and economic empowerment.
The meeting reaffirmed the government’s focus on youth, housing, and employment as pillars of national progress, underscoring the ongoing collaboration between public institutions and the private sector in achieving Bahrain’s comprehensive development goals.
