Ten arrested for possessing narcotics

Ten individuals of various nationalities, aged between 21 and 42, were arrested in five separate cases for possession of approximately 12 kilograms of narcotics, with an estimated street value exceeding BD176,000, the Ministry of Interior confirmed.
The arrests form part of ongoing security efforts by the Anti-Narcotics Department of the General Department of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, conducted in cooperation with Customs Affairs, aimed at protecting society from the dangers of drug abuse and trafficking.
According to authorities, following receipt of actionable intelligence, targeted searches, investigations, and information-gathering operations were launched, leading to the identification and apprehension of the suspects along with the narcotics in their possession.
The General Department of Criminal Investigation and Evidence stated that the seized substances were confiscated, legal measures were initiated, and the cases have been referred to the Public Prosecution for further action.
The Criminal Media Division underscored the importance of community partnerships in raising awareness about drug-related crimes through educational lectures and exhibitions.
