Public Security Sports Federation Records Over 1,000 Medals Since 2004
Public Security Chief Visits General Sports Federation for Public Security
Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan, paid a visit today to the General Sports Federation for Public Security. He was accompanied by Assistant Undersecretary for Human Resources, Major-General Adel Abdullah Amin, and President of the Federation, Brigadier Khalid Abdulaziz Al Khayyat.
At the start of the visit, the Chief of Public Security highlighted the importance of sports as a fundamental pillar in shaping well-rounded security personnel. He praised the significant support for sports in Bahrain, led by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports. He also noted the keen interest of Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, in enhancing the physical and professional skills of ministry affiliates, which contributes to discipline, teamwork, and improved security performance.
During the visit, he was briefed on the Federation’s establishment, objectives, strategic plans, and the range of programs and sporting activities it organizes for Interior Ministry personnel. These include training courses, sports tournaments, awareness lectures, and various publications documenting achievements and events.
Major-General Al Hassan stressed the importance of further developing the Federation’s work, encouraging greater involvement of the families of ministry personnel to strengthen community partnership. He emphasized the need to provide high-quality programs and training courses, as well as enhance sports facilities and the Federation’s organizational structure to align with the Interior Minister’s vision and maintain the Federation’s outstanding progress.
Brigadier Khalid Al Khayyat reviewed the Federation’s key achievements, including organizing the Ministry of Interior ATP Challenger Tennis Tournament and the Ministry of Interior Olympic Shooting Championship. He also noted that the Federation secured 1,034 medals across various competitions between 2004 and 2025.
Concluding the visit, the Chief of Public Security expressed his appreciation to the Federation’s management for their accomplishments at both local and international levels. He underscored the importance of continuing to implement sports programs and initiatives in line with best practices to prepare highly skilled and well-rounded security personnel.
