Iconic Dolphin Resort Set for Demolition

The Capital Municipality has executed a court ruling ordering the eviction of a company from its investment premises on the Eastern Coast, following the expiration of its usufruct contract with the municipality and the accumulation of outstanding financial dues.

As part of this ruling, the iconic Dolphin Resort is set to be demolished after the company behind it failed to renew its contract and settle its financial obligations. The Capital Municipality deployed a specialized technical and legal team to the site to ensure full evacuation and supervise the start of the demolition process today.

For decades, Dolphin Resort was Bahrain's only destination offering dolphin and seal shows, hosting a variety of events, and even giving visitors the opportunity to swim with the marine mammals. The resort was a popular choice for school trips but gradually fell into disrepair and eventually closed.

The municipality emphasized that the judicial ruling came after exhausting all legal and administrative avenues to regularize the company’s situation, including granting time extensions and repeated attempts to reach amicable solutions. The investor’s failure to meet financial and contractual obligations led to the issuance of the final judgment.

The Capital Municipality affirmed that enforcing the ruling reflects its commitment to upholding the law, protecting public property, and ensuring proper investment of assets. Legal measures will continue to be applied against any investment entity that fails to comply with contractual terms or meet its financial responsibilities.
