Bahrain’s Education Ministry Earns ISO 27001:2022 Certification for Second Year

The Ministry of Education in Bahrain has received the ISO 27001:2022 certification for Information Security Management Systems for the second year in a row. The recognition was awarded after the Ministry successfully met all the requirements of the international audit conducted by RICI Company Limited, a globally accredited body.

Suhaila Hamada, Director-General of Schools Affairs at the Ministry, said the achievement reflects the Ministry’s strong commitment to enhancing information security and adopting global best practices. She noted that this success is the result of the outstanding efforts of the Ministry’s Information Technology and Digital Learning Directorate.

Nadia Al-Marisi, Director of IT and Digital Learning, also expressed pride in the accomplishment. She explained that it highlights the Ministry’s continuous work to strengthen its digital infrastructure and ensure a secure information environment. By following international standards and policies, she said, the Ministry is protecting data and ensuring the continuity of digital services across its sectors.

The ISO 27001 standard is one of the most important international benchmarks for information security. It sets out policies and procedures that safeguard data privacy, availability, and integrity, while supporting global goals for digital governance and trust in electronic systems.
