Justice Ministry Sets Exam Date for Aspiring Lawyers Without Sharia Studies

Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda has announced the date for a special exam required for applicants seeking registration as lawyers who have not studied Islamic Sharia.

According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, the written exam will take place at 9 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025, on the fifth floor of the Ministry’s headquarters. The test will cover topics including personal status, inheritance, endowments, wills, and gifts.

The ministry stated that applicants who have not previously submitted registration requests must send their applications to the Office of the General Registrar via email within two weeks from the date the decision takes effect.

The exam is considered a key requirement for registration in the lawyers’ roll, aimed at ensuring professional competence and a solid understanding of essential personal status laws.
