Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani has reaffirmed the Kingdom’s deep-rooted commitment to a foreign policy guided by peace, dialogue, and mutual respect—principles that reflect the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Speaking in the wake of an extraordinary Cabinet session chaired by His Majesty the King, Dr. Al Zayani said the royal directives serve as a clear and thoughtful framework for Bahrain’s diplomacy. “His Majesty’s guidance embodies Bahrain’s dedication to promoting solidarity, regional stability, and international peace,” he noted, adding that the Kingdom’s approach is grounded in a humanitarian spirit and a long-term vision for peaceful coexistence.

He emphasized that the royal vision forms a comprehensive roadmap for Bahrain’s foreign policy, based on enduring values such as moderation, openness, and respect for others. This includes the core principles of respecting state sovereignty, avoiding interference in internal affairs, upholding international law, and resolving disputes through peaceful means.

The Foreign Minister also praised His Majesty’s firm belief in dialogue and negotiation over confrontation. He welcomed the recent announcement by former U.S. President Donald Trump on a comprehensive ceasefire between Iran and Israel—a move Bahrain views as a positive step towards de-escalation and the prevention of further conflict in the region.

“Under His Majesty’s leadership, Bahrain continues to believe that diplomacy is the best and most sustainable way to solve crises and ensure lasting peace and prosperity for all,” Dr. Al Zayani said.

He further underscored Bahrain’s support for renewed diplomatic engagement between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Iran, noting the deep historical, cultural, and religious ties that unite the region. “We share too much in common to allow disputes to divide us,” he said.

Dr. Al Zayani concluded by affirming Bahrain’s belief that meaningful regional cooperation and a collective commitment to peace can pave the way for a more secure and prosperous future. “This is a chance to begin a new chapter based on tolerance, coexistence, and constructive engagement—for the good of all our peoples.”
