Bahrain’s Interior Minister Calls for Arab Strategy on Public Safety at Regional Meeting

His Excellency Lieutenant General Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Interior, led the Bahraini delegation at the 42nd session of the Arab Interior Ministers Council in Tunisia.
During his address, the Minister emphasized the urgent need for an Arab strategy on public safety, citing the increasing humanitarian crises in the region. He stressed the importance of training civilians at both national and regional levels by preparing trained volunteers to assist in maintaining order, first aid, and rescue operations in emergencies.
Highlighting the rapid advancement of digital and technological transformation, he underscored the necessity for Arab nations to adapt to these changes and expand the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in security operations.
To strengthen cybersecurity efforts, the Minister proposed the formation of a specialized group of Arab experts on cybercrime. This team would be tasked with studying AI applications in security programs and developing a comprehensive guideline for their optimal use.
The Arab Interior Ministers Council continues to focus on regional security cooperation, with discussions aimed at enhancing safety measures and law enforcement across the Arab world.
