Housing Ministry signs deals for 123 new homes in Buhair and Hoora Sanad

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has signed agreements with two prominent property developers, Al Saraya and Al Namal, to construct 123 new homes on government-owned land in Buhair and Hoora Sanad.
The move is part of Bahrain’s initiative to create affordable housing in the Southern Governorate.
Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, formalized the agreements with Saud Abdulaziz Kanoo, Chairman and CEO of Al Saraya, and Laji George, General Manager of Al Namal.
Under the deal, Al Saraya will build 76 homes in Buhair, while Al Namal will construct 47 units in Hoora Sanad.T hese projects are aligned with directives from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to maximize the use of public land for housing.
The new developments bring the total number of projects launched under the program to four, following the Suhail housing project in Al Lawzi (132 units) and ongoing work in Salman City (131 units).
Al Saraya’s development will span 20,000 square meters in Buhair, while Al Namal’s Hoora Sanad project will cover 10,000 square meters.
Both projects are designed to provide homes for beneficiaries of the ministry’s housing financing programme.
Saud Abdulaziz Kanoo and Laji George expressed their enthusiasm for collaborating with the government, highlighting the success of public-private partnerships in delivering affordable housing solutions.
More projects are expected to follow as part of the Government Land Development Rights Programme.
