Corona injuries in India rose to 6.31 million
Data from the Ministry of Health in India showed that 86,821 new cases of the emerging coronavirus were recorded during the past twenty-four hours, bringing the total number to 6.31 million by Thursday morning. This comes at a time when India has eased further restrictions to cope with the damage to the economy as a result of the pandemic.
The Ministry of Health said that the deaths due to corona infection increased by 1181, bringing the total to 98678.
On Wednesday, India allowed states to open schools and cinemas. The state of Maharashtra which is the richest state in the country and the headquarters of the financial center Mumbai also will allow bars and restaurants to operate fully.
India reported its worst economic downturn in decades in the first quarter to June as the Covid-19 pandemic forced many businesses to close and forced the country to impose one of the strictest shutdowns to prevent the spread of the virus.
