Dubai: A 24 years old Dubai lady gave birth to a baby girl after battling uterine cancer with fertility-preserving medication, a process that physicians characterised as a miraculous recovery.

Shruthy was diagnosed with early-stage uterine cancer in August 2024, after experiencing prolonged heavy monthly flow. While a hysterectomy was once considered the conventional treatment, it might have prevented her from having children.

Doctors instead chose a fertility-preserving treatment that included hormone therapy and the installation of a Mirena intrauterine device. She was constantly examined by regular scans and medical tests to determine her response to treatment.

By April 2025, testing revealed that the cancer had gone into total recovery. Shruthy became naturally pregnant only two months later.

She later gave birth to a healthy baby girl weighing 2.8 kg at 38 weeks. The mother continues to get frequent check-ups to monitor her health and confirm that cancer is in cure.
