Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani called for stronger Arab unity and greater support for Syria’s recovery during an Arab League ministerial session on Monday.

Al-Shaibani said Syria was working to rebuild state institutions, restore national sovereignty and ensure that weapons remain exclusively under state control. He added that armed factions had been integrated into the national army as part of efforts to strengthen state authority.

Describing Syria’s transition from years of conflict toward reconstruction, Al-Shaibani urged Arab countries to include Syria in regional funds and development programmes from 2027 to help accelerate economic recovery.

On regional security, he condemned Iranian attacks targeting Gulf Arab states and Jordan, stressing Syria’s opposition to actions that threaten regional stability.

He also reaffirmed Damascus’ commitment to diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and ending Israeli attacks and incursions, calling for greater Arab coordination to address ongoing regional challenges.
