Ukraine drone attack hits Russia’s ‘Amazon’ warehouse

Moscow: A Ukrainian drone attack struck a warehouse operated by Wildberries, Russia's largest online store, outside St. Petersburg on Friday, causing a serious fire and injuring three people, according to Russian officials and the company.

Wildberries is sometimes referred to as "Russia's Amazon" because to its massive online marketplace and extensive logistics network. The facility in the Leningrad region was apparently targeted amid a midnight wave of drone attacks on Russian territory.

The incident occurs at a time when Russia and Ukraine's long-range strikes have escalated dramatically. Kiev has aggressively targeted Russian military, power plants, and logistics facilities, whereas Moscow continues to launch massive missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities.

The Wildberries factory appears to be targeted several times in recent days, raising concerns about the vulnerability of important distribution hubs that are part of Russia's commercial and supply chains.

Russian authorities said emergency workers were dispatched to fight the fire and evaluate the damage. Ukraine did not immediately claim responsibility for the strike.
