Migrant dies attempting to cross Channel to Britain

LONDON: A woman has died while attempting an illegal crossing from France to Britain across the English Channel, according to reports from British and French authorities. The incident occurred on Sunday after the vessel reached English waters.
British authorities intercepted the small boat during the crossing and discovered an unconscious passenger on board. Despite receiving immediate medical assistance, the woman subsequently passed away.
While official government sources have not disclosed specific details regarding the victim’s identity, the migrant support association Utopia 56 confirmed on social media that the individual was a woman.
This tragedy underscores the persistent dangers associated with irregular small boat crossings.
