Jerusalem: The Israeli military said it killed two Palestinians near the settlement of Karmei Tzur in the occupied West Bank after they allegedly tossed Molotov cocktails at the settlement, in the territory's latest attack.
According to the military, soldiers responded with live fire after identifying the two suspects near the Hebron community. A third Palestinian was reportedly injured during the fight.
Palestinian officials and media identified those murdered as 15-year-old Reda Sami Awad and 19-year-old Arafat Ismail Awad. According to Palestinian sources, Israeli authorities are keeping the victims' bodies following the incident.
The incident occurs in the midst of rising violence throughout the occupied West Bank, where since the Gaza war, Israeli military operations, settler attacks, and clashes with Palestinians have escalated, leading to a substantial increase in injuries and displacement.
