Arizona: A cyberattack on the Arizona court system stole personal information for around 1.3 million people, including records dating back up to 30 years. The hack occurred on September 24, when a court employee accessed a deceptive phishing link.

According to sources, the stolen data contains names, case numbers, and Social Security numbers for those assigned to the state's penalties/Fees and reparations Enforcement program for unpaid court-ordered fees, penalties, and reparations. The attack also included roughly 30,000 protection orders and over 150,000 foster-care reports dating back to 2010.

Court IT personnel identified the intrusion and shut down the impacted backup system within two hours. Officials stated that the compromised material was encrypted, and there is no evidence that it was read, used, or shared. No court records were edited or deleted, and court procedures remained unaffected.
