DHAKA; Six newborn babies died under mysterious circumstances early Wednesday morning at a prominent hospital in the capital city of Dhaka. The sudden fatalities occurred in the neonatal ward of the Ad-Din Medical College Hospital, prompting immediate government concern and a formal law enforcement probe.
Senior Dhaka Metropolitan Police official Sheikh Zahidul Islam confirmed that emergency units were dispatched immediately after receiving reports regarding the ‘unnatural deaths’.
The deceased infants were fragile, aged between just one and two days old. While a definitive medical conclusion has not yet been established, local media outlets are reporting that severe drop in temperatures, caused by the neonatal unit's air conditioning system, may have induced fatal exposure.
Police investigators remain stationed at the medical complex to interview staff and secure records. Authorities vow to uncover the precise operational or medical cause behind the tragedy
