Imam Sheikh Abdulmohsen Al-Qasim condemned threats by the Houthi militia targeting the security of the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah during his Friday sermon at the Prophet’s Mosque.

In his sermon, Sheikh Al-Qasim explained that differences among people in their abilities, livelihoods, and social circumstances reflect divine wisdom and mercy. Such differences, he said, contribute to mutual dependence, social stability and provide people with diverse opportunities to worship and serve others.

He stressed that wealth and poverty should not be viewed as measures of divine favour or displeasure, but rather as tests of faith and character. True distinction among people, he said, is based on piety and righteous conduct.

The imam also highlighted the importance of patience during hardship and gratitude during times of prosperity, noting that a believer’s life moves between these two states.

Addressing the sanctity of Makkah and Madinah, Sheikh Al-Qasim strongly condemned attacks and threats that endanger the security of the holy cities and spread fear among their residents.

He also recalled the Prophet’s warning against those who unjustly intimidate or threaten the people of Madinah, stressing the city’s profound religious sanctity and the importance of protecting its people from harm.
