GCC Secretary-General Slams Basra Consulate Attack

Riyadh: Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, has strongly condemned the storming of Kuwait’s consulate in Basra by protesters.
In a statement issued by the GCC General Secretariat, Al-Budaiwi expressed deep concern over the incident, describing it as a serious violation of diplomatic norms and international conventions that protect diplomatic missions and their personnel.
He urged Iraqi authorities to take immediate action to hold those responsible accountable and to implement measures to prevent similar incidents in the future, warning of the risks posed by such attacks.
Al-Budaiwi also emphasized that protecting embassies and consulates is essential to upholding international law and diplomatic order.
