Major UAE airlines — Emirates, flydubai, and Etihad Airways — have released updated travel advisories stating that Iranian nationals are currently barred from entering or transiting through the United Arab Emirates.
The updated guidance, published on the airlines’ official platforms, does not specify a reason for the restriction. However, the carriers noted that certain categories of travellers are exempt.
Golden Visa holders exempt
Iranian nationals who hold the UAE’s Golden Visa are not affected by the ban and may continue to enter or transit through the country under their long-term residency status.
Additional exemptions
According to Emirates, other Iranian nationals may still travel under specific conditions, including:
-
Spouses of UAE nationals
-
Children of female UAE nationals
-
Athletes
-
Bank executives
-
Doctors and medical professionals
-
Family members of UAE nationals
Authorities and airlines have not yet clarified how long these measures will remain in place or provided further details on the reasons behind the restrictions.
