IAEA Monitoring Strike on Ardakan Nuclear Site

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed that it has been informed by Iran of an attack on the Shahid Rezayee Nejad Yellowcake Production Facility in Yazd province, also known as Ardakan.

The facility is understood to be part of Iran’s early-stage uranium processing infrastructure.

According to the IAEA, no increase in off-site radiation levels has been reported following the incident. The agency said it is currently reviewing and assessing the available information in coordination with Iranian authorities.

IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi reiterated his call for maximum military restraint, warning that any escalation involving nuclear-related facilities carries serious risks and could potentially lead to a nuclear safety or radiological accident.

Further updates are expected as the situation develops and verification work continues.
